F.A.D. Cafe: Fashion, Art & Design Salon
April 28th 2017, 6:30-9:00pm
California Tower 加州大廈
Our ongoing event series for April's theme of Fashion, Art, and Design (FAD) will culminate in the end of the month Salon taking place on the last Friday of this month. Bringing together industry leaders, influencers, and connectors for an evening conversation, led by April Curator Richard Kelly, this month's Curators will discuss the idea of FAD not as different industries, but as interconnected discussions around the idea of culture. Fashion as cultural present (the now or current pulse / trends of culture) Art as cultural perception (seeing, interpreting, understanding culture) Design as cultural production (prototyping and making our material culture) World Cafe is a social technology for collaborative conversation — engaging people in participative conversations, based on the understanding that conversation is the core process that drives personal, business, and sociocultural life. FAD Cafe aims to adapt the approach of World Cafe to help participants discover and explore the interconnectivity of the FAD fields for themselves in a participative way (vs. hearing a series of talks or a panel), building a shared common understanding as a base for future ideas and initiatives. Join us for an evening of ideas, discussions, debates, and most importantly - actions.
